The Isle of Man’s new Merchant Shipping (SOLAS Chapter III) (Life-saving appliances and arrangements) Regulations entered into operation on 1st July 2017. These Regulations replace existing Regulations which gave effect to SOLAS Chapter III and bring the Isle of Man’s SOLAS Chapter III requirements up to date.
In addition to the new Regulations a new MSN has been published:
- MSN 062 SOLAS III Life-saving appliances and arrangements
And the following MSNs have been re-issued:
Several MSNs (listed below) have been revoked. Where necessary the technical contents of these MSNs have been included in MSN 062:
- MSN 005 – Musters/drills
- MSN 009 – Lifeboat hook arrangements
- MSN 010 – Lifeboat recovery strops
- MSN 018 – Immersion suits
